A Romanian navy ship with 75 sailors on board ran into a drifting mine 25 nautical miles from the port of Constanta on 8 September. The crew was alerted about the mine but they were unable to defuse it in time because of high winds and waves.

According to the NV publication, the Reuters news agency wrote that the ship involved in the incident was a navy dredger, the CFTS portal reports.

The ship's floatability was not affected, there was no major damage on board, and none of the crew members was injured.

It should be noted that such incidents are a consequence of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine. The Russians use minefields, among other things, to blockade Ukrainian seaports.
