A ship carrying Ukrainian grain to Kenya and Ethiopia has left the port of Chornomorsk.

The Ukrainian Ministry for Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the statement, this is the fifth to transport wheat to Africa under the “Grain from Ukraine” program, the purpose of which is to provide Ukrainian grain to “countries suffering from hunger.”

The Valsamitis bulk carrier is transporting 25,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat to Kenya and 5,000 tons to Ethiopia.

The Royal Star bulk carrier, which was chartered by the United Nations World Food Program, has also left the port of Odesa. It is transporting 25,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat to Afghanistan.

Over the weekend, 10 ships carrying 361,200 tons of agricultural products left the ports of Greater Odesa for Africa, Asia, and Europe.

According to the statement, 757 ships carrying 21.9 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products to countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa have left the ports of Greater Odesa since 1 August 2022.
