SkyUp Airlines operated 16,927 flights in 2024, a 60% increase from the previous year, according to the company's internal statistics.
The airline carried 2.5 million passengers in 2024, 61% more than in 2023, the CFTS portal reports. Cooperation with leading airlines and tour operators opened routes to 59 countries for the company’s aircraft.
Although flights within Ukraine are still not possible, SkyUp's operations abroad enabled it to pay over UAH 370 million in taxes to the state.
One of the major breakthroughs of the year was the launch of scheduled flights. This important step opens up the opportunity to travel from Chișinău to countries such as France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Cyprus.
Ticket sales have already begun, and the first flights are scheduled to begin in the spring of 2025. This step is an important signal: SkyUp is returning to scheduled service.
"Not only have we exceeded our operational performance indicators, but we have also made a breakthrough by announcing the launch of scheduled flights. This is a new chapter in our history, and we look forward to bringing it to life," said SkyUp Airlines CEO Dmytro Seroukhov.
SkyUp Airlines announced the resumption of scheduled flights in December 2024. At the time, it was reported that the airline would be based in Chișinău.
The airport was chosen because it is one of the international hubs closest to the Ukrainian border.
