The cargo turnover of the terminals belonging to the TIS group of companies will total between 20.5 and 21 million tons by the end of 2013, TIS’ General Director Andrii Stavnytser announced during an interview with the Insider publication.

"I do not want to get ahead of myself, but I think we will reach first or second position among all ports - public and private - this year. We expect a growth of 10-11%. We will have a cargo turnover of more 20.5-21 million tons this year," said the head of the company.

As of the time of the interview, which was published on December 12, the cargo turnover of the group’s terminals since the beginning of the year was 19.5 million tons. However, Stavnytser said on his Facebook page on December 15 that TIS had reached a turnover of 20 million tons.

"Here it is - the cherished figure. We broke the barrier of 20 million tons in the TIS group of companies tonight," Stavnytser wrote.

As reported, the cargo handling volume of the Odessa seaport, which is one of the largest ports in Ukraine, was 24.5 million tons at the end of 2012.
