Pegasus Airlines, a Turkish low-cost airline, has begun operating flights on the Ankara-Kyiv-Ankara route. The first aircraft landed at the Zhuliany airport at 11:10 on Tuesday, the CFTS correspondent reports.
The flight PC554 was operated on an Airbus A320neo aircraft (registration number TC-NBC). The airplane took off from Ankara at 10:16.
Most of the passengers on the flight were supporters of the Besiktas football club, which played against the Dynamo Kyiv football club in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The airline had two other airplanes at the Zhuliany airport – two Boeing 737-800 that arrived earlier – on Tuesday. All the three aircraft were scheduled to fly to Ankara at 05:30, 11:05, and 14:10 on Wednesday.
As reported, Pegasus will operate flights on the Ankara-Kyiv-Ankara route four times a week. The airline company also offers connections to flights to Antalya.
Ukrainian carrier UIA recently launched daily flights on the Kyiv-Ankara route.
