Two STS cranes weighing 750 tons each were delivered to the TIS terminal in the Yuzhny port on November 19. The cranes will be installed at the berth No. 22, which is currently nearing completion and will have a length of 600 meters.
The carrying capacity of the cranes is 74 tons. In addition to reloading containers, the cranes can be used for handling bulk cargoes. For this purpose, its loaders are equipped with grabs with a capacity of 40 cubic meters. This will make it possible to unload Capesize-class vessels with bulk cargo with five cranes simultaneously at the average speed of 50,000 tons per day, the CFTS reports, citing information from TIS.
The cranes were delivered by the vessel KOREX SPB No.2. The journey from Rotterdam took the 152-meter vessel flying the flag of South Korea 20 days.
