Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has added two Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft to its fleet of aircraft. The two aircraft, which were received from the AerCap company, have undergone registration in Ukraine and received the registration numbers UR-PSO and UR-PSP, the press service of the UIA reports.
Thus, the airline currently has 35 aircraft, of which 30 are Boeing aircraft, including 16 of the NG (new generation) modification.
"We continue to implement the plan for development of our fleet for 2016. The first aircraft from AerCap – UR-PSO – performed its first flight on the Kiev-Antalya route on May 5 and the second –UR-PSP – will be put into commercial operation today, May 16, when it will perform a flight on the Kiev-Kharkov route," the press service of the UIA quoted Yevhen Churiumov, the head of the airline’s aircraft fleet projects, as saying.
According to Churiumov, the UIA will continue to work with AerCap to renew and expand its aircraft fleet and, in general, the carrier will increase its fleet by five more aircraft before the end of the year, thus bringing the total increase during the year to nine aircraft (Boeing 737-800).
