Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov have reached agreement on construction of a joint crossing over River Danube. The lb.ua website reported this, citing the press center of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration.

According to the report, during a meeting the two ministers reached an agreement on joint construction of a crossing over River Danube, which will open a route from Ukraine to Romania and Bulgaria, as well as on repair of the Odessa-Reni road. According to Klimkin, the issue of creating a new business incubator for small and medium-sized businesses in Bolgrad was also on the agenda. They also discussed cooperation in the areas of education and culture.

"During the talks, the Bulgarian side promised to increase the quota for education of Ukrainian citizens of Bulgarian origin in Bulgarian universities," Klimkin said.

According to him, the two sides discussed the possibility of attracting EU funds for financing projects involving crossings and road repairs. This issue will be discussed at the level of presidents during a meeting between Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko and Bulgaria’s President Rosen Plevneliev, who will pay an official visit to Ukraine.

Recently, the Odessa region’s Governor Mikhail Saakashvili promised that the Odessa-Reni highway would be repaired and a program for repair of roads in the region launched by the end of this year.
