Ukraine is seeking at least USD 300 billion in reparations from Russia.

The Liga publication reported this, citing the Deutsche Welle publication.

"We want to receive compensation for all the damage that Russia has done to Ukraine through its war of aggression," Minister of Justice Denys Maliuska said.

The damages that Ukraine has incurred as a result of the Russian invasion are estimated to be much higher. However, the stated USD 300 billion corresponds to the Central Bank of Russia’s international assets that were frozen under sanctions.

Maliuska demanded access to these funds, as well as to the foreign assets of Russian state-owned companies and the confiscated properties of Russian oligarchs.

Ukraine plans to present a draft resolution on the creation of a new mechanism to make Russia pay for the invasion at a session of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
