Maria Mykhailiuk has become the first woman to pass the CES test for the rank of captain in Ukraine under the new Seafarer Certification System.
The Shipping Administration’s head Yevhen Ihnatenko announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
"The first exam took place at the Morrichservis service center in Kyiv after the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal unblocked the transparent procedure for certification of seafarers. Among those who successfully passed the exams today based on the CES 6.0 test, which is recognized by the international maritime community, was a woman, who eventually received a certificate of successful completion of the examination for the rank of captain," he said.
According to him, Mykhailiuk answered 94% of the questions correctly.
The certificate is valid for five years.
