The Ukrainian Port Authority and the port of Batumi (Georgia) have agreed to broaden their cooperation. The Ukrainian Port Authority’s head Andrii Amelin and the Batumi Seaport’s First Deputy General Director Ramaz Giorgadze signed the relevant memorandum at the Mykolaiv-Batumi business forum on 26 April, the press service of if the Ukrainian Port Authority announced.
The two sides intend to share experiences on strategic port development, attraction of investments, and implementation of quality systems in the port operations and shipping safety.
In addition, Ukrainian ports and the port of Batumi will try to attract more export-import and transit cargo flows.
"Today, Ukrainian ports are ready to receive additional cargo flows. In our view, the emphasis needs to be placed on both restoration of bilateral relations between our two countries and establishment of transit routes," Amelin said, commenting on the signing of the memorandum.
