The State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) earned revenues of UAH 4.5 billion in July 2015, exceeding its projected revenue by UAH 176 million or 4.1%. The Interfax Ukraine news agency reported this, citing the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
According to the latest data, Ukrainian railways transported 30.1 million tons of cargo in July 2015, exceeding the projected volume by 6.5%.
In addition, the number of passengers transported by Ukrainian railways increased: 40.3 million people used rail transport services in July, which is 1.5% more than the projected number.
"The financial result from transportation is positive and amounts to UAH 840.7 million. losses from passenger transportation is expected at UAH 516.8 million, which is less than the forecast by UAH 170 million or 24.7%," Ukrzaliznytsia said.
