The head of the Ukrainian Railways public joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia), Yevhen Kravtsov, has presented suburban shuttle trains that will link Kyiv and Irpin region and operate on the Kyiv-Klavdievo route. The presentation took place at the Sviatoshino train station on Wednesday, the CFTS correspondent reports.
The suburban shuttle trains began operating on December 12. The new train service will be available to passengers during peak hours in the mornings (from 06:16 to 10:41) and evenings (from 15:06 to 19:44). The first train will depart from the Nemeshaevo station at 06:16 and the last will arrive at the Sviatoshino station at 19:44.
The suburban shuttle trains operate at intervals of 35-65 minutes from Mondays to Fridays.
The final stations are Sviatoshino and Klavdievo, although some trains will not go beyond Nemeshaevo. The suburban shuttle trains will cover the distance between Sviatoshino and Klaadievo in 35 minutes. They will make stops in Irpin, Bucha, Vorzel, and Nemeshaevo.
"This route was chosen because of the large number of passengers. We hope that these trains will be popular among residents of Irpin and Bucha," said Kravtsov.
Two Er9 electric trains that have undergone modernization will be operated on this route. Ukrzaliznytsia plans to extend shuttle trains to other destinations in the future.
