The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) has opened its first lounge zone in test mode at the Central Railway Station in Kyiv.
The Business & Family Lounge is located on the ground floor of the station building, to the left of the main entrance, the CFTS portal reports.
“There was a service center in this room, but very few people used it because it was not very convenient. We know what lounge areas look like at airports, and we want to provide a similar service to our passengers at train stations. This is our first lounge, and we will implement similar projects on a smaller scale in other cities. This is not yet the full opening, we are only showing you what we have done, and we await your comments," Ukrzaliznytsia’s Board Chairman Oleksandr Kamyshin said while presenting the Business & Family Lounge.
The use of the Business & Family Lounge costs UAH 250 per person per hour and UAH 150 for first-class passengers of Intercity, Intercity+, and SV trains. It is free for holders of Visa and MasterCard premium cards.
In addition to the use of the comfortable seating area, the fee includes coffee/tea and a sandwich or sweets.
The lounge area also has showers, a playroom for children, toilets with baby changing stations, and toilets for people with disabilities. Adult and children's menus are available in the buffet.
In addition, the lounge area is convenient for business passengers, who can use the coworking area or meeting room (for an additional fee).
