The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) repaired 86 freight locomotives in 2023.
Ukrzaliznytsia stated this in a report, a text of which the CFTS portal obtained.
According to the report, the company repaired 37 diesel locomotives and 49 electric locomotives in 2023.
In mid-December, Ukrzaliznytsia reported it had repaired 26 diesel locomotives and 36 electric locomotives. This means that Ukrzaliznytsia managed to significantly increase the pace of repair of traction rolling stock in the last month of 2023.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia built 528 freight cars, including 427 flatcars, at its own manufacturing facilities in 2023.
As reported previously, Ukrzaliznytsia expected a net profit of UAH 7 billion in 2023 after a net loss of UAH 9.6 billion in 2022. Rail freight rates for all types of cargo were raised by 70% in the summer of 2022.
