The Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company made a consolidated net profit of almost UAH 1.5 billion on consolidated revenue of about UAH 37.6 billion in the first half of this year.
According to information from Ukrzaliznytsia, the revenue exceeded the target by 4.1% of UAH 1.5 billion.
Revenues from transportation amounted to UAH 28.8 billion hryvnia, including UAH 25.6 billion from freight transportation, which is almost UAH 2 billion less than the target because of a 6.4% fall in freight turnover as a result of a 34% fall in the volume of transit freight, among other reasons. Revenue from passenger transportation amounted to UAH 3.1 billion, which is UAH 285.8 million more than the target because of a 6.3% increase in passenger transportation.
Ukrzaliznytsia made a total profit of UAH 1.8 billion from transportation in the first six months of 2016, although it made a significant a loss of UAH 4.1 billion from passenger transportation.
Ukrzaliznytsia’s expenditures in the first six months of 2016 amounted to UAH 36.1 billion, including UAH 27 billion on operations related to transportation.
The company paid UAH 6.9 billion in taxes and other payments during this period, including UAH 2.5 billion into the state budget and UAH 4.4 billion into special state funds and local budgets.
