The situation involving supply of diesel fuel has been resolved, 4,000 tons of diesel fuel will be delivered in the coming days, and shipments have already begun, the press service of the State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) announced.

According to the press service, the leadership of Ukrzaliznytsia has taken personal control of the issue.

"Ukrzaliznytsia’s acting General Director Maksym Blank personally thanked the company supplying the diesel fuel for shipping it urgently. Rail transport will be ensured," the press service said.

As reported, the Forbes.ua publication, citing the head of a department of Ukrzaliznytsia, reported on June 17 that the volume of fuel that the railway had left was sufficient for only one day of operation. The publication claimed that total fuel reserves had fallen to the critical level of about 1,100 tons as of 17:00 on June 16 while Ukrzaliznytsia’s daily consumption was more than 800 tons. However, according to a source, the fact that part of the reserves cannot be used should be taken into account.

Earlier, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine blocked the purchase of diesel fuel for Ukrzaliznytsia based on complaints from a little-known company.
