The Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure is considering the possibility of transferring the state’s fleet of train ferries to the State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia). Deputy Infrastructure Minister Mykola Snitko announced this in Odessa, RZhD-Partner reports.
"While considering the options for the sea shoulder of the Viking container train’s route, we are considering the possibility of cooperating with the Bulgarian Maritime Fleet company, which engages in train ferry operations. In addition, the option of transferring the train ferries that were transferred to the Ilyichevsk to Ukrzaliznytsia is being considered," Snitko said.
As reported, the State Property Fund of Ukraine has returned the state’s fleet of train ferries (two train ferries) that was previously leased to the Ukrferry company. The vessels are now on the books of the Ilyichevsk seaport, which owns the relevant ferry terminal.
