The Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company has invited tenders for provision of services involving maintenance of a Bell 430 helicopter. The estimated cost of the services is UAH 2.98 million.
The tenders were announced on 8 November. Bids can be submitted until 19 November.
The Bell 430 helicopter was built in 2003. Ukrzaliznytsia purchased it for USD 8 million the same year. Then-prime minister Viktor Yanukovych flew on the helicopter while campaigning for early parliamentary elections in 2007.
Ukrzaliznytsia invited tenders for maintenance of the helicopter for the same fee of UAH 3 million in 2011.
According to data in the ProZorro electronic public procurement system, only one company (the Prominterservis company) is currently ready to participate in the tender. Prominterservis was founded in 2004. The company's ultimate beneficiary is Estonian citizen Vello Luther. The company specializes in maintenance and lease of helicopters. Ukrainian politicians often use the company’s services during elections.
