The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) transported more than 16 million passengers on long-distance passenger trains in 2020.

Ukrzaliznytsia announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

As usual, the Kyiv-Kharkiv route, on which 712,700 passengers were transported, was most popular last year.

The second most popular was the Kyiv-Lviv route, on which 652,800 passengers were transported.

Ukrzaliznytsia also transported 561,800 passengers on the Kyiv-Dnipro route, 472,600 on the Kyiv-Vinnytsia route, and 383,500 on the Kyiv-Odesa route.

The Intercity and Intercity+ high-speed trains carried 2.35 million passengers in 2020.

As the CFTS portal reported, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 55.9 million passengers on long-distance routes in 2018 and 53.3 million in 2019.
