Trains operated by the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) transported over 25 million passengers on long-distance routes in 2021. This is 150% more than the 16 million passengers that they transported in 2020, the CFTS portal reports.
However, the figure for the transportation of passengers on long-distance routes in 2021 is half the figure in the pre-COVID period. For comparison, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 55.9 million passengers on long-distance routes in 2018 and 53.3 million in 2019.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the train No. 45/46 carried the most passengers (899,700) in 2021, followed by the train No. 41/42 Dnepr-Truskavets (520,700), the train No. 69/70 Mariupol-Lviv (485,300), the train No. 91/92 Odesa-Kostiantynivka (465,700), and the train No. 145/146 Kyiv-Izmail (449,400).
