A new pedestrian bridge has been opened in Kyiv.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

The bridge connects the Obolonskyi Island and the Natalka Park near the Obolonska Embankment.

The structures for the bridge were manufactured at the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works and brought to Kyiv just a few weeks before the start of the full-scale war.

"For now, we will not turn on the lighting of the main structure, only the economical LED lighting of the bridge railing," Klitschko said.

The construction of the bridge began in 2021. No money from the city budget was spent on its construction.

"Construction work was suspended at the beginning of the full-scale war. It was resumed last spring. At the same time, we began to create a recreational area," said the mayor of Kyiv.
