Windrose Airlines has launched regular flights from Kyiv to Podgorica (Montenegro).

The first flight from the Boryspil airport took place on Tuesday, 1 December, the CFTS portal reports.

The flights will be operated on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using Embraer-145 and ATR-72-600 aircraft.

The airline offers transit flights to Kyiv from Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Lviv.

"Regular direct flights between Podgorica and Kyiv open up new prospects for development of Ukrainian-Montenegrin cooperation. Ukrainian tourists are important to Montenegro. They will discover this wonderful Balkan country as a winter resort for the first time. We hope that Montenegrins will also take the opportunity to get to know the tourist delights of Ukraine," Ukraine’s Charge d'Affaires in Montenegro Natalia Fiyalka said.

Airports of Montenegro’s spokesperson Marina Miketic Nikolic said that the Embraer 145 aircraft was almost full: 40 passengers arrived from Ukraine and 45 flew to Ukraine. According to her, tickets for flights on this route are sold out for the next two weeks.

"It has been confirmed that the planes on the Kyiv-Podgorica route are already full for the next two weeks, and we hope that this route will significantly improve the dynamics of air traffic and tourism in Montenegro since the Christmas and New Year holidays begin after that," she said.

As reported, Ukrainian-based Windrose Airlines launched flights Kyiv-Zagreb flights in early October, operating two flights per week.

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Croatia changed its entry rules for Ukrainian citizens on 1 December.
