The Wizz Air low-cost airline is returning to Lviv, and it has decided to launch flights from there to Wroclaw (Poland).

"We are officially announcing the resumption of our operations and we are launching the Lviv-Wroclaw route from April," Wizz Air’s Chief Corporate Office Owain Jones told a press conference in Kyiv, the CFTS correspondent reports.

According to Wizz Air’s website, the first flight is scheduled for Thursday, 13 April, but the airline will subsequently operate flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The cost of a ticket for the first flight is about UAH 1,400.

According to Jones, the airline currently has no plan to resume the operations of its Wizz Air Ukraine subsidiary. "We suspended the operations of Wizz Air Ukraine two years ago, and we do not plan to resume its operation in the near future. We will work through the parent company," he said.

The Lviv airport’s head Tetiana Romanovska told the press conference that flights to Wroclaw would offer passengers new opportunities to fly within Europe. "Nine Wizz Air aircraft are based in Wroclaw, and our citizens will be able to fly further within Europe. The negotiations took a long time, and I am grateful for the support of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of Transport, and local authorities," Romanovska said.
