The Yuzhny seaport increased cargo transshipment by 1.9% to 42.702 million tons in 2018, compared with 2017, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the Ukrainian Seaports Authority, the port reduced transshipment of export cargo by 3.5% to 29.6 million tons and increased transshipment of import cargo by 15.6% to 7.445 million tons, transit cargo by 15.9% to 5.55 million tons, and coastal cargo 4.15-fold to 155,430 tons during this period.

According to the nomenclature of cargo, the port increased transshipment of liquid bulk cargo by 5.35% to 3.81 million tons, reduced transshipment of dry bulk cargo by 5.07% to 34.3 million tons, doubled transshipment of unitized cargo to 4.56 million tons, and increase transshipment of containers by 76.7% to 124,900 TEU in 2018.

Transshipment of coal reduced by 13% to 6.1 million tons, transshipment of coke increased four-fold to 381,000 tons, transshipment of iron ore reduced by 1% to 17.58 million tons, and transshipment of metallurgical products increased 2.3-fold to 2.85 million tons in 2018.

As reported earlier, the Yuzhny seaport increased cargo transshipment by 6.6% to 41.9 million tons in in 2017, compared with 2016.
