The Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company reconstructed 990 kilometers of railway tracks in 2016, of which 133.3 kilometers were completely reconstructed, Ukrzaliznytsia told the CFTS portal.
According to the information provided by Ukrzaliznytsia, it overhauled 183.6 kilometers of tracks, performed moderate repairs on 396.2 kilometers, and rehabilitated 297.7 kilometers. In addition, it replaced 104 sets of railway switches with new ones, replaced 71 railway switches with refurbished ones, and performed moderate repairs on 371 railway switches.
As the CFTS portal earlier reported, Ukrzaliznytsia performed various kinds of repairs on 430.8 kilometers of tracks from 1 January to 10 May.
In total, Ukrzaliznytsia plans to reconstruct 270 kilometers of tracks, overhaul 256.5 kilometers, perform moderate repair work on 650 kilometers, and rehabilitate 550 kilometers in 2016. In addition, it will perform moderate repair work on 513 railway switches, replace 208 railway switches with new ones, and replace 185 with used ones.
