Nine self-propelled and 29 non-self-propelled vessels were repaired at the Kiliia Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard, which is part of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP), in the first 10 months of 2022.

The UDP’s head Dmytro Moskalenko announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

"The UDP is actively developing its ship repair program this year," he said.

According to Moskalenko, the UDP's immediate plans include the implementation of a major project to modernize two dry cargo vessels that have been lying idle for a long time.

"It provides for replacement of the engines with new, more economical, and powerful ones," he said.

As reported previously, 36 ships were repaired at the Kiliia Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard in the first nine months of 2022. As of the beginning of October, the Lviv and Zvenyhorod tugboats, the Dmytro Kalinin self-propelled dry cargo vessel, and the DS-1847, DS-1626, and S-424 barges had undergone scheduled repairs at the shipyard’s facilities.
