Following Uber and Hopin, the Taxify taxi order service is planning to enter the Ukrainian market, Deputy Mayor of Dnipro Yanika Merilo has announced.
"One of the well-known competitors of Uber contacted me yesterday (Saturday, 27 August). Taxify has begun training taxi drivers in Kyiv and it is looking for a local manager in Dnipro and Lviv to enable it to launch quickly," Merilo wrote on Facebook.
Taxify was founded in Tallinn in 2013, and it now operates in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, the Netherlands, and Mexico.
The service has received EUR 1.5 million in funding from international investors from Skype, Pipedrive, Adcash, Rubylight, TMT Investments, and others. The Taxify mobile application is available on mobile devices running the Android and iOS operating systems.
As reported, the Hopin taxi service (Slovakia) and Uber taxi service (United States) began operation in Kyiv in late June.
