Another train broke down on the route between Kyiv’s Central Railway Station and the Boryspil airport on December 4.
“A Kyiv-Boryspil train that departed at 15:00 has stalled near the Darnytsia station. People are late for the airport,” a passenger posted on Facebook, adding in the comments section that the Pesa rail bus was unable to reach the airport and that it had to be pulled by an M62 locomotive. According to him, passengers were delayed by 30 minutes.
The CFTS portal asked the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (JSC Ukrzaliznytsia) to comment on the situation. The company’s press service replied that the "circumstances are being investigated, the reasons are being analyzed, and measures are being taken."
As reported earlier, a Kyiv Boryspil Express train broke down on the way to the airport on December 1, the second day after the launch of the Kyiv-Boryspil express train service. Some passengers had to walk through the snow to the airport to avoid missing their flights. Ukrzaliznytsia paid one passenger a compensation of USD 550 because he had to buy a new ticket for a flight to Australia.
