PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, an integrated steel plant, will double its fleet of gondola cars in autumn 2018 by purchasing 500 gondola cars. Andrei Moroz, the head of the external logistics department at PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, announced this in a statement.

"We have purchased 500 gondola cars (hereinafter wagons) this year. We have already received some of them, and we expect to complete the deal in autumn. Our fleet will double, which will allow us to transport 10-15% of our shipments with our own wagons. Our goal is to have a fleet of 1,500 wagons, which is about a third of our total requirement (4,500 wagons)," Moroz said.

According to him, this number of gondola cars will be sufficient because the company is not striving to meet all its transport needs with its own rolling stock.

It was reported in early summer that ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih had concluded a contract with the OTP Leasing company for lease purchase of 450 gondola cars manufactured by Dniprovagonmash. The value of the deal was about UAH 600 million. The lease agreement was concluded for five years.
