The supervisory board of the Black Sea Shipyard (Nikolayev) has appointed Oleksandr Ostapenko as its new general director, replacing Valerii Kalashnikov, who was relieved of the post by mutual consent, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reported.

According to information about the company in the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market’s information disclosure system, the company’s supervisory board made the relevant decision on July 21.

Ostapenko is a former chief engineer at the Black Sea Shipyard and a former member of its directorate.

The Black Sea Shipyard is capable of building ships and vessels with displacements of up to 105,000 tons. Along with the Kherson shipyard, the shipyard is part of the Smart Holding group’s Smart Maritime Group (SMG) shipbuilding sub-holding. Businessman Vadim Novinsky owns the Smart Holding group.
