Elena Alexandrova, the Boeing corporation’s communications director for Russia, has denied reports that Ukraine will supply engines and launch vehicles to the corporation, the TASS news agency reports.
"The Ukrainian mass media published absolutely inauthentic information. The Boeing company has not signed any contracts with Ukraine on cooperation on space programs and we are not planning any agreements in the near future," Alexandrova told the Rossiya-24 television channel.
The 1+1 television channel earlier reported that Ukraine and Boeing had reached an agreement under which the corporation would buy rocket engines and launch vehicles from the Yuzhnoye Design Office and the Yuzhmash factory. According to this report, deliveries will be made on the condition that Kiev has no relevant contacts with countries on which the United States has imposed sanctions.
"Boeing is interested in continuing cooperation with Ukraine on the Sea Launch project. It is also interested in a project that we proposed for creation of a new satellite that would help Ukraine to perform telecommunications tasks," the Ukrainian Space Agency’s head Liubomyr Sabodash said earlier.
The United States currently buys Russian-made rocket engines.
