For the first time in three years, the Boryspil international airport ended the first half of this year with a profit of UAH 200 million. The press service of the airport announced this in a statement.

The airport made a loss of UAH 116.4 million in the first half of 2014 and a loss of UAH 7.1 million in the first half of 2013.

According to the airport, it has been implementing a new development strategy since December last year.

"The key aspects of this strategy are the existence of air carriers implementing a hub strategy at the airport; increase of the level of service and attractiveness of the airport to passengers; a flexible motivational system for carriers, which is aimed at stimulating air transport, developing new destinations, and developing transfer-passenger traffic; ensuring operational efficiency and minimum time of services; optimization of technological processes and avoidance of increase of the airport’s costs," the statement said.

As reported previously, the Boryspil airport expects a profit of UAH 167 million this year.
