A government committee has approved the concept for development of the Boryspil international airport until the year 2045. Ukraine’s Deputy Infrastructure Minister for European Integration Viktor Dovhan announced this in a statement on Facebook, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Krylia publication.
According to Dovhan, the concept for development of the airport provides for handling 54 million passengers, building a new runway, and expanding its Terminal D.
The amount of investment will be EUR 3.4 billion.
The Boryspil airport made a pre-tax profit of UAH 2.3 billion in 2018. The airport handled more than 12 million passengers this year.
As the CFTS portal reported earlier, the Accounting Chamber intends to audit the finances of the Boryspil and Lviv airports. Auditors will examine the efficiency of use of state budget funds by managers and recipients.
