The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Wojciech Balczun as Ukrzaliznytsia’s new head as well as the new board of the company proposed by him.
According to the list of candidates that First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yevhen Kravtsov announced at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the new board includes former manager at PKP Cargo Marek Robert Zalesny, Ukrzaliznytsia’s Financial Director Oleksandr Buzhor, former head of PKP PLK Remigiusz Paszkiewicz, and personnel specialist with work experience at international media companies Zeljko Marcek.
As reported, Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian said in in mid-April that new people must be appointed onto the board of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Before this Cabinet of Ministers decision, the board of Ukrzaliznytsia included the company’s director of corporate governance and personnel motivation Oksana Marina, its director of infrastructure Serhii Mikhalchuk, German expert and advisor to the minister of infrastructure Stefan Hofsaess, and the company’s director of operations Vitalii Zhurakovskyi, who became the company’s acting board chairman after board chairman Yevhen Kravtsov was appointed deputy minister of infrastructure.
