Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) has received official notification from the Canadian aviation authorities that it has passed an aviation security audit and received permission to operate flights to Canadian cities. The press service of the carrier announced this in a statement.

The airline plans to launch Kiev-Toronto flights in summer 2015. It was required to undergo an audit by the Canadian Ministry of Transport before it could launch the flights. The audit was performed from 8 to 12 December 2014 (the airline's aviation security documents and their application in practice were studied).

Along with the results of the previous audits performed by the United States’ Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Israel’s Ministry of Transport, as well as the award of the European Union’s ACC3 validation, the results of the Canadian audit demonstrate that the level of aviation security provided by the UIA meets the highest international standards and that the airline is fully prepared to operate flights to Canada, the airline’s press service said.
