Car imports into Ukraine increased by 31% to 107,940 in the period of January-July 2018, compared with the same period last year, according to data from the State Statistics Service, the CFTS portal reports.
The total cost of the cars that were imported during in the period of January-July 2018 was USD 1.15 billion.
More than half of these cars were imported from the European Union. The total value of vehicles worth a total of USD 617 million were imported from the European Union.
As the CFTS portal reported in early summer, the number of primary registration of used cars exceeded the number of primary registration of new cars in Ukraine in the first six months of this year.
The number of cars with European registration plates in Ukraine reached 10% of the total number of passenger cars in the country in August.
