Ukrainian transport enterprises (excluding those operating in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol and the non-government-controlled territories in the Donbas) transported 382.2 million tons of cargo in the period of January-August 2020, which is 13.4% less than they transported in the same period in 2019.

This is stated in data from the State Statistics Service, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

According to the State Statistics Service, the cargo turnover of Ukrainian carriers reduced by 17.1% to 185.7 billion ton-kilometers during this period.

According to the statistics, 196.7 million tons of cargo was transported by rail domestically and for export in the first eight months of this year. This is 5.3% less than the volume that was transported in in the first eight months of 2019.

Out of this volume of cargo, 119.4 million tons was transported by road (a 23.5% reduction), 3.3 million tons by water (12.4% reduction), 62.7 million tons by pipeline (15% reduction), and 0.1 million tons by air (10.7% reduction).

As the CFTS reported earlier, Ukrainian transport enterprises transported 327 million tons of cargo in the first seven months of 2020. This represents a 15%reduction compared with the corresponding period of 2019.
