Cargo transshipment at Ukrainian seaports reduced by 4.9% to 105.159 million tons in the period of January-September 2013, compared with the same period in 2012, the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine has announced.

Transshipment of imported goods increased by 10.2% to 13.368 million tons while cabotage increased by 60% to 2.048 million tons. At the same time, transshipment of export cargo reduced by 3% to 68.778 million tons and transshipment of transit cargo reduced by 21% to 20.809 million tons.

"Given the favorable dynamics of grain transshipment, increase of transshipment of export goods is planned for October,” the administration said.
In September, the volume of cargo transshipment at Ukrainian seaports was 12,925 tons (the figures for the same period of last year were not provided).

There are 18 seaports in Ukraine. Their strategic assets were included in the newly created Administration of Seaports of Ukraine in the summer. The Delta Lotsman state enterprise and the state-owned Kerch Ferry company were also subordinated to the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine.
