China is interested in investing in the subway, roads, and social infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital. China’s Ambassador to Ukraine Zhang Siyun announced this at a meeting with Kiev’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the press service of Kiev city administration announced.
According to Zhang Siyun, Chinese investors and businesspeople are interested in participating in investment projects in Kiev. "Beijing is ready to consider your projects and invest in Kiev, particularly projects involving construction and development of the subway, roads, and social infrastructure," the ambassador said.
Klitschko recently visited Beijing, where he had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the Chinese capital’s experience of developing its social infrastructure.
"The experience of Beijing in developing the city can be an example for Kiev, particularly in the area of development of social infrastructure. Such experience provides an opportunity not only to see how a Chinese metropolis with a multi-million population functions, but also to avoid mistakes in development of the city’s transport and infrastructure," Klitschko said at the meeting with the ambassador.
The Kiev mayor said he would instruct the Kiev Investment Agency to prepare projects that would be of interest to the Chinese within one week.
