The commission for concession competitions will soon consider a feasibility study for a project at the Yuzhny seaport. Infrastructure Minister Maksym Burbak announced this during a news briefing in Odessa, the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced.

According to him, the potential investor in the Yuzhny port is currently the Portinvest company. "The Ministry of Infrastructure will do everything to ensure that it is a transparent and open competition," said the minister.

The port prepared the feasibility study for the project jointly with experts from the Roland Berger consulting company.

In addition, the minister said that there are proposals to invest in construction of a railway junction at the Yuzhny port from the Transinvestservis company (TIS).

According to the press service, a meeting has been held with potential investors in the ports of Odessa, Ilyichevsk, and Nikolayev. According to the minister, organization of competitions will depend exclusively on the investors themselves: the faster they prepare their feasibility studies for the projects, the quicker a competition will take place.

Burbak also said that a concession is not the only form of cooperation with investors and that the ministry is open to any other proposals involving public-private partnerships.
