The Dniproavia airline will launch flights on the Kyiv-Bucharest route on 2 September this year. The flights will be operated regularly four times a week, the CFTS reports, citing avianews.com.

It is noteworthy that there are currently no direct flights between the two neighboring countries. Embraer-145 aircraft will be operated on the new route.

The flights will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Departures from Kyiv will be at 14:40 and arrivals in Bucharest at 16:20. Flights will depart from Bucharest at 17:00 and arrive at the Boryspil airport at 18:40.

The cost of a roundtrip flight will be UAH 5,200.

President Petro Poroshenko announced resumption of air services between Ukraine Romania in April. "We hope that airlines make use of the permits that have already been granted to them and resume direct flights between Bucharest and Kyiv soon," Poroshenko said at a joint press conference with Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis in Bucharest on Thursday, April 21.

The administration of the Chernivtsi airport is also in talks with two Romanian air carriers on launch of regular and charter flights.

The director of the Chernivtsi airport did not disclose the names of the airlines because the negotiations have not yet been completed. "Negotiations are underway, but I will not name [the companies] until they are completed. It is a trade secret," the airport’s Director Borys Morskyi said. He stressed that these airlines did not previously fly to Chernivtsi.
