The commission for distribution of permits for transportation of goods has abolished the distribution of scarce permits for international road transport. The chairman of the State Road Transport Safety Inspectorate (Ukrtransinspektsia), Valerii Chernenko, announced this on Wednesday, the CFTS portal’s correspondent reported.
"In fact, quotas for European and Asian countries were abolished today," said Chernenko. "This will allow all carriers - both small and large - to operate under the same market conditions," the head of Ukrtransinspektsia said.
According to him, the previous leadership of the ministry worked actively to regulate the distribution of quotas, but the inspectorate began to uncover massive irregularities during issuance and submission of permits. "Therefore, further regulation has demonstrated its futility,” said Chernenko.
Quarterly quotas will go into free circulation. "The decision on further establishment of quotas for permits with limited annual quotas for the next quarter will be made in the near future,” said Chernenko.
