The Volyn region is preparing to receive agricultural products from other regions for storage and transportation to European countries.

The Volyn regional military administration’s head Yurii Pohuliaiko announced this, the CFTS portal reports, citing the UkrAgroConsult company.

"Our farmers are doing everything possible. Therefore, I call on all producers: when you gather the harvest, bring it here. There will be many problems involving the export of grain and other agricultural products this year. That is why we are building a large dry port. It will accommodate many tons of grain and other agricultural products. We are not talking about just one such construction project. Our farmers are building and preparing to receive this year's harvest. We are now trying to help export last year's harvest," said Pohuliaiko.

He noted that a significant number of Ukrainian ports are currently occupied, which makes it difficult to export grain.

"We are preparing for a big load after this year's harvest, which will need to be moved to Europe. A large part of this harvest will go through Volyn. Therefore, we need to work to ensure that we can store and transport the harvest and help with everything we can, and many people are working towards this," he said.

According to him, the Volyn region is preparing to receive crop harvests from the Zaporizhia and Mykolaiv regions. The region is suitable for this because it has enough storage facilities and elevators, he said.

There will be a shortage of 10-15 million tons of grain storage capacity by the end of October because of the destruction of grain warehouses and the temporary Russian occupation of settlements.
