The Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company stopped receiving natural gas from the Gazprom gas company (Russia) on Friday, the Interfax news agency has reported, citing the Central Dispatch Division of the Russian Fuel and Energy Complex.
Naftogaz of Ukraine received 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas in October (an average of 104 million cubic meters per day).
Gas supplies reduced by half in the first few days of November, reduced to single digits (about 9 million cubic meters per day) on November 6 and 7, and stopped on November 8.
As reported, the Ukrainian company was due to pay USD 1.355 billion for October gas deliveries on November 7. The government most likely failed to find these funds, considering the existing debt for August deliveries.
