Russian Railways has imposed restrictions on the transportation of goods via the Kavkaz (Russia) - Varna (Bulgaria) ferry crossing in the Black Sea until 30 September 2024.

This was reported by the CFTS portal, citing the publication Enkorr.

Liquefied petroleum gas and technical oils are exported from Russia to Bulgaria by ferry.

According to industry sources, the restriction is related to a fire on a ferry in the port of Kavkaz last week. The ferry, which was carrying 30 railroad tanks containing fuel, sank because of the damage caused by the fire.

The Kerch ferry service suspended operations after the fire.
