Ukrainian airlines transported a record 12.5 million passengers in 2018, which is 18% more than the number of passengers they transported in 2017. This was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure, the CFTS portal reports. According to the ministry, these are preliminary data.
According to the State Aviation Service, the number of passengers transported by Ukrainian airlines increased by 18.8% to 11.6 million in the period of January-November 2018, compared to the corresponding period of 2017. The number of passengers they transported on international flights increased by 19% to 10.6 million.
The State Aviation Administration announced in September 2018 that 20 domestic airlines were engaging in passenger transportation in Ukraine, including the UIA, Windrose, Azur Air Ukraine, and Yanair airlines. The five largest airlines in the country carried 8.9 million passengers in in the first nine months of 2018.
Ukrainian airlines increased passenger transportation by 27.5% to 10.554 million in in 2017.
As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Ukrainian airports handled 20.55 million passengers in 2018.
