The Ukrainian agricultural holding Kernel has expanded its fleet with the purchase of a third vessel.
This is stated in Kernel’s report for the second half of 2023, the CFTS portal reports.
"In December 2023, the group acquired a bulk carrier with a grain cargo capacity of 50,000 tons. As the third vessel in Kernel’s fleet, the bulker represents a significant addition to enhance the group’s transportation and logistics capabilities," the report states.
The agricultural holding recently announced its intention to increase the number of vessels in its fleet in light of the successful operation of the Ukrainian Black Sea corridor.
Earlier, Kernel acquired the tanker Mavka and the bulk carrier Eneida. "Two Kernel vessels—the Eneida and the Mavka—currently export Ukrainian products. The Eneida bulk carrier has a deadweight of 47,335 tons and the Mavka tanker has a deadweight of 13,500 tons," Kernel said.
