The Kryukov Railcar Building Works (Kremenchug, Poltava region) may begin supplying trains to Lithuania. Ukrainian and Lithuanian experts discussed this on 2 June at a meeting during the 16th session of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation, the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure announced in a statement.

"The two sides discussed possible ways of organizing delivery of freight and passenger wagons, diesel and electric trains manufactured by the Kryukov Railcar Building Works for the needs of the Lithuanian Railways, including joint production," the press service said.

The two sides agreed to continue promoting the Viking train project on the Turkish market, taking account of development of the two possible transport routes: by sea and bypassing the Black Sea on the territories of Romania and Bulgaria. It is known that Azerbaijan is willing to join the project. Lithuanian and Ukrainian officials believe that this is a good opportunity to attract freight traffic from Central Asian countries and China through the route of the TRACECA transport corridor.

In addition, Lithuania has announced that it plans to complete the electrification project on its territory that is part of the Black Sea-Baltic Sea electric propulsion ship at the beginning of 2016. The Ukrainian delegation provided information about the planned electrification of the Korosten-Ovruch-Slovechno segment in 2016-2017.
