The Lemtrans freight forwarding company transported 48.542 million tons of cargo in 2013, the press service of the company has announced.

"There was a significant increase in coal. The total volume of transportation of this type of cargo increased by 13% to 33.795 million tons. The second highest volume of cargo transported by the company involved iron ore. The volume of transportation totaled 7.656 million tons. Moreover, in the 12 months of 2013, the company transported 2.851 million tons of fluxes, 2.353 million tons of ferrous metals, and 1.378 million tons of coke," the press service said.

According to the statement, the company's share in the segment of freight transportation by gondola cars in Ukraine was approximately 17% in 2013. 

The press release also states that Lemtrans bought 645 new gondola cars and overhauled 637 cars in 2013. In addition, it performed roundhouse servicing of 3,981.

The Lemtranslimited liability company is the largest private freight forwarding company in Ukraine. It offers the full range of services involving transportation of goods by rail. Its main areas of operation are forwarding services involving domestic and export/import cargo and repair of rolling stock.
